5th Grade Camp
The Outdoor Education Experience
- Camp is a long standing tradition for Cougar Ridge 5th grade students.
- Provides a hands on science learning experiences.
- Builds camaraderie, friendship and team building skills.
- Creates 5th grade memories for life.
- Students will use the camp experiences throughout the year in a variety of
academic areas.
Why Camp Warm Beach?
- Warm Beach Camp is located on one of the finest eco-systems in the Northwest for the study of marine estuaries, upland forests, and human impact on natural systems.
- Windows, doors & heat!!
- Wide variety of activities.
- Covered meeting area in case of rain.
- Snacks will be provided for the students!
Accommodations
- Approximately 8 students & 2 parent chaperones in each cabin.
- Heated with windows & doors!
- Multiple bathrooms and shower facilities.
- Students will need a sleeping bag and pillow.
Café Warm Beach
- Buffet style dining.
- Multiple food choices for each meal, including a vegetarian option.
- Morning and afternoon snacks, will be provided.
- Please do NOT send any food, snacks, or treats with your child.

Swimming or Put-Put?
- Students will have a choice to swim in the heated pools, play put-put golf, or play games in the field.
- Don’t forget a swim suit, towel, & pool flip flops
Camp Warm Beach—“What to Bring” List
A few words of advice:
- Activities happen rain or shine so be sure to pack appropriately! Layering works best.
- Bring old clothes. New clothes will come home looking very old.
- Wear comfortable and sturdy shoes.
- Wrap your bedding (sleeping bag & pillow) in a garbage bag with your name on the outside.
- Mark your name on everything you bring (including shoes).
Required items:
- Sack lunch for first day (no glass or non-disposable items)
Bedding
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow
Clothing
- Daily change of socks and underwear
- 2 extra pairs of socks
- Hat and gloves/mittens
- Long pants (2 pairs)
- Pajamas or sweatpants & sweatshirt with hood
- Plastic bag for dirty/wet clothing
- Raincoat, waterproof coat
- Shirts (both heavy and light weight)
- Shoes: tennis shoes, rubber boots and/or hiking boots (2 pairs), plus a pair of sandals or flip-flops to wear to/from pool area
- Swim suit
- Warm sweater or sweatshirt
Toiletries
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Soap and shampoo
- Towel (for swimming and bathing) and washcloth
- Comb or brush
- Sunscreen lotion, chapstick, bug spray
- Water bottle
Optional Items:
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Inexpensive camera
- Books, paper and sharpened pencils or pens
- Playing cards
Prohibited Items:
Do not bring any of these items to camp; they will be taken from students!!!
- Money or other valuables.
- Radios, CD players, MP3s, iTouch/iPod/iPad, DS or other video games, cell phones or other electronics.
- Food, candy, gum, soda pop or other non-water beverages.
- Hairdryers, curling irons, other electronic appliances.
